By the sea

Menez Reun is located within 3km of a long sandy beach that stretches over 9 km, from Penhors in the North to La Torche in the South.

A great variety of activities awaits you:

  • Beach activities: enjoy all the space you want on one of the most beautiful beaches in Britanny
  • Surfing, windsurfing, kite surfing and yachting: discover one of the greatest spots in Britanny, or take some surfing lessons at La Torche surf school

Countryside

More than 500km of hiking, biking, riding, and cycling path awaits you in the Baie d’Audierne, with a wide range of natural landscapes. The hiking trail GR 34, known as the “chemin des douaniers”, will take you from Douarnenez to the Pointe de Penmarc’h along the sea, passing by the many cliffs, beaches and lighthouses. Along this trail, you will discover  georgeous places and among the most beautiful panoramas of Brittany.

Reun Menez is on the edge of a protected natural area. Just behind the shingle and dunes, the ponds of Kergalan, Trunvel and San Vio are havens for birds, and are a key bird migration zones. If you like horseriding, gallop along the sandy beach with the local riding club that offers horse riding for all riding levels. If you like the open sea instead, the Glenan Islands and the island of Sein are a stone’s throw from Menez Reun.

Local heritage

The Pays Bigouden has a rich heritage and a unique history that you can discover at the Musée Bigouden in Pont l’Abbé or in the Musée Breton in Quimper. Many chapels, dolmen and menhir await you along the sea and in the countryside. Quimper is 25 km away from Menez Reun, with cathedral, its lovely townhouses, its old streets and places.
